Incredible learning ethos leads to incredible results!
Another strong year of results for Crookhorn College with some excellent areas of strength. This year, 64% of all grades were at 9–4, with 100% gaining a 4 or higher in each of the sciences and 70% achieving this in English or maths.
The foundation subjects continue to grow, with the average grade improving in each of the last three years. Our disadvantaged and SEN students continue to improve their overall performance, seeing an increase in their overall average grade.
High-attaining students performed extremely well, with our more and most able students gaining an average grade of nearly 7!
Some incredible highlights at Crookhorn:

Students in triple science achieved an average grade of 6.75.

Students in Engineering achieved an average grade of 6.2.

45% of students in RS achieved a 7–9 grade.

8% of our students achieved a grade 9 in Art, with only 2% of the population doing this.
-
44% of all grades for students who are identified as being of high-attainment were graded at 9–7.

Grade method - explained
The mark/grade that you are awarded for a subject tells you how well you have done. The government decides how many ‘performance points’ a certain standard of work is worth. They do this within a ‘level’ structure.
At Crookhorn we offer GCSE’s (level 1 or 2) alongside a variety of vocational subjects that, depending on the course and the level achieved can be level 1 or level 2. We use a variety of exam boards, that may present their vocational grades in slightly different formats.
At GCSE, you can achieve a grade from 1-9.
